I selected the GTX980 over the GTX970 short on research, if I had done some reading I would have found that the 970 is only about a 12% performance loss over the GTX980.

I am usually (but not currently) a consultant for EMC, but the opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

I'm vendor agnostic. I don't get into religious arguments about what is best for other people. That's a stupid argument. Different technologies work better for different people, and who am I to judge.
